Stays in Vegas?

Not this time my friends.

Growing up in New York I thought we were “The City That Never Sleeps”. HA! It took me all about three seconds to see Las Vegas might have us beat (sorry NY, I still love you).

Last week, I had the pleasure of spending a few days in “Sin City” and WOW, was there a lot to see. A week later and finally, the ringing sounds of the slot machines faded. It’s funny how you can’t even get a cup of coffee without walking through the casino. Good thinkin’ Venetian. Ift2017logo

The focus of my trip included taking prep courses for the Certified Food Scientist exam and walking through the 2017 National IFT. During the show I had the pleasure of meeting some of the fabulous individuals who help represent EFP & VPI throughout the United States. And although I may not have left with millions, I walked away with something much more valuable – new knowledge. Some might argue this, but I like to think the power of knowledge triumphs over dollar signs. This industry is growing and changing ever single day. Being involved in the food industry, it is imperative to keep up with the, forever changing innovations and alterations.

New and delicious samples debuted at thousands of booths. Flashy colors and trendy furniture attracted the eyes of all the attendees. Still, I felt something was missing.

Any guesses?? That’s right, CARAMELIZED SUGAR PRODUCTS.
